ALICE R. GARDNER

Alice R. Gardner, 94, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at home.

Born January 26, 1930 in Curwensville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. And Eva M. (Michael) Rundell. She was the widow of Herbert K. Gardner who died March 20, 2016.

Mrs. Gardner was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Carlisle. She was a retired school teacher with 43 years of service in the East Pennsboro School District. She also taught for three years in South Carolina.

Alice received her Bachelor’s Degree from Bob Jones University. A member of the PSEA, she loved gardening, singing and playin the piano.

  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Herbert K. Gardner, Jr. and several brothers and sisters .

Surviving are a son, Michael P. Gardner of Dauphin; a daughter, Suzanne Gardner of Carlisle. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Ian M. Gardner, William E. Gardner, Arianna Wilson, Colin Wilson, Michael Gardner, II, Zachary Gardner and Heather Mitten, as well as three great grandchildren: Jacob Gardner, Mark Gardner and Mya Gardner.

Funeral services will be held on July 3, 2024 at 10:30 A. M. At Grace Community Church, 325 Silver Spring Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service.
