CHESTER R. GARMAN
Chester R. Garman, 87, of Carlisle, died Saturday, September 3, 2016 in the Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle.
Born March 22, 1929 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Chester C. and Rebecca E. (Raudabaugh) Garman.
Mr. Garman was retired from the Naval Inventory Control Point, Mechanicsburg, where he was employed as a pipe fitter. He was a U S Army veteran of the Korean War.
A member of St. Marys United Methodist Church, Newville, he was also a member of the Plainfield Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by a son: Donald; six sisters: Clara, Mary, Thelma, Alma, Hazel and Ruth and five brothers: John, Clarence, Norman, George, Merle.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 63 years: Hazel E. (Hockenberry) Garman; a son: Ronald Garman of York; a daughter: Robin (Joe) BeMiller of Woodbridge, VA; two grandsons: Scott (Paula) BeMiller of Utah and Eric BeMiller of South Carolina; three great grandchildren: Chase, Noah and Makayla BeMiller; and four brothers: Paul of Carlisle, Marlin of Carlisle, Walter of Newville and Jesse of Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle, with the Rev. Lisa Klinger, his pastor, officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard, will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. Viewings will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P. M. and also on Thursday from 10:00 A. M. until time of service.
