DORIS J. COCKLEY

Doris J. Cockley, 88, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at home.

A daughter of the late Miles and Viola (Miller) Minnich, she was born at Boiling Springs on September 24, 1928.

She was a 1946 graduate of Boiling Springs High School where she was the accompanist for the Glee Club.  Doris loved playing her piano, antiquing and flee marketing.

She was preceded in death by two brothers:  Richard and Miles Wendall Minnich.

Surviving are her husband of 70 years:  George Wayne Cockley, whom she married on March 15, 1947; two sons:  Jeffrey Cockley of Mechanicsburg and Randall Cockley of Lemoyne and a daughter:  Julie Cockley of East Stroudsburg, Pa.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boiling Springs.  The Rev. Deborah L. Brumbaugh will officiate.  There will be no viewing or visitation.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the United Methodist Home for Children, Inc., 5120 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, Pa 17050.
