ELMER R. REED
Elmer R. “Bud” Reed, 89, of Mechanicsburg, entered eternal life on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle.
Born March 4, 1929 in Selinsgrove, he was the son of the late Elmer and Laura (Walter) Reed.
Bud was a loving, easygoing person and a wonderful husband and father to his family.
He was retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot and had previously worked at the former Olmsted Air Force Base, Middletown.
A member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, New Kingstown, he also held membership in the Lafayette Lodge #194 F& AM, Selinsgrove and the Harrisburg Consistory. He was a proud U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Bud was preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister: Ernesteen Morris.
Surviving are his wife: Marian (Keefer) Reed; two daughters: LaDawn Enyeart (husband William) of York Springs, PA and Tania Glazer (husband David) of Harrisburg; a sister: Sarah Miller of Souderton, PA; two grandsons: Ryan and Travis Enyeart and a granddaughter: Taelor Siffin.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 30 W. Main St., New Kingstown, PA with the Rev. Matthew Best officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 A. M. until time of service. Burial will be private. The Cumberland County Honor Guard will provide military services immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 30 W. Main St. New Kingstown, PA 17072 or the American Cancer Society, 112 Sipe Ave, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
