GLENN E. WISE

Glenn E. Wise, 82, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle.

Born May 4, 1935 in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Philip and Esta (Roush) Wise.

Glenn was a retired schoolteacher from the Cumberland Valley School District where he had taught Driver’s Education.  After retirement he worked for the State Harness Racing Commission for 8 years.

He was a 1962 graduate of Shippensburg University and enjoyed rhododendron gardening and hunting in Texas. Glenn was a member of the Cold Spring Hunting Camp and was also a U S Army veteran. Glenn also loved his grandchildren and being there for their sporting and cheerleading events.

Glenn was also a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, Boiling Springs where he served as an Assisting Minister and on the Church Council.

Surviving are his wife:  Sandra (Winkleman) Wise; two children:  Todd Wise (wife Holly) of York and Teri Wise of Columbia, MD; two grandchildren:  Corey and Sarah Wise and his twin sister:  Glenna Trimmer of Carlisle.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church, Second and Walnut Streets, Boiling Springs from 10:00 A. M. until 12 Noon, followed by a closing prayer  at 12:00 P. M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, P O Box 46, Boiling Springs, PA 17007.
