HAROLD E. OTTO
Harold E. Otto, 85, a life long resident of South Middleton Township, entered eternal life on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.
Born August 28, 1932 in Carlisle, he was the only child of Elias and Rhea (Meixel) Otto.
Harold was a retired farmer and rural mail carrier. In retirement he drove for the Carlisle Area School District. He graduated in 1951 from Boiling Springs High School and married his wife of 66 years, Sally (Reffner) Otto in 1951.
He was a 73 year member of the former member of Grace Untied Methodist Church, Carlisle, where he was Head Usher and taught Sunday School for many years. He was currently a member of Carlisle United Methodist Church.
Harold was a member of the following organizations: the Salvation Army Board, Stephen Ministry, Boiling Springs Lions Club, Boiling Springs Golden Age Club, and NARFE.
Surviving are his wife: Sally (Reffner) Otto; two sons: Rev. Dennis Otto (wife Mona) of Mechanicsburg and Kevin Otto (wife Dianne) of Boiling Springs and four grandchildren: Andrew Otto (wife Emily), Katie Ritter (husband Zach), Jillian Otto and Joshua Otto.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 A. M. at Carlisle United Methodist Church, corner of West and South Streets, Carlisle, with the Rev. Mira Hewitt officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A. M. until time of service. Burial will be private in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boiling Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carlisle United Methodist Church, 45 S. West St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
