JAMES VOVAKIS

James Vovakis 89, of Carlisle, passed away one Friday, March 12, 2021.

Born February 28, 1932 inn Carlisle he was the son of the late Harry and Harriett Vovakis.

James was retired from Capitol Products and a U S army Veteran of the Korean War.

He held a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Miami.  Jim was a member of Carlisle Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1299 Carlisle and American Legion Post 109 Mechanicsburg. He was also a life member of the Cumberland County Historical Society.

He most recently attended First Lutheran Church, Carlisle.

Surviving are a brother:  Ernest Vovakis of Greece; a daughter Ann Marie Vovakis Foustoukos; his campanion:  Shirley Hess and her family:  Billie Jo Hess, Bailey Parrish and Tyler Hess, all of Carlisle.

Graveside services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 9:00 AM.
