JOHN W. SHEAFFER

John W. Sheaffer, 68, of Carlisle, died Monday, August 29, 2016 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

Born November 22, 1947 in Cumberland County, he was a son of the late John and Mary E. (Barnhart) Sheaffer.

Mr. Sheaffer was a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School and was a U S Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

John was currently employed at PPG Industries, Carlisle where he has worked for  43 years.

Surviving are a daughter:  Melanie (Kurtis) Seville, of Newville; three sisters:  Terry Reitz of Mechanicsburg,  Denise McCardell of New Cumberland and Lisa Zucatti of Dillsburg; a brother:  Jeffrey Sweger of New Cumberland; two grand daughters:  Sydney and Mackenzie Seville and two grand sons:  Tyler and Aidan Seville, all of Newville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road Carlisle with the Rev. William E. Pipp officiating.  Burial, with military honors provided by the Cumberland County Honor Guard, will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 A. M. until time of service.
