JOSEPHINE L. CLAY
Josephine L. Clay, 91 of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024 at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born April 9, 1933 in Mechanicsburg, she was the only child of the late Parker and Mary (Woods) Lichty.
She was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School and had formerly worked for Bell Telephone.
A lifetime member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church where she was very involved in the Sunday School program and the church bazaar.
Josie was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Flirts & Skirts Square Dancing Club. She enjoyed helping with Girl Scout Cookie Sales and volunteering at the Mechanicsburg Museum, and Meals On Wheels. Additionally she loved crafting, painting and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Rodgers.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Clay of Mechanicsburg and two sons, James D.(Roxann) Clay and Thomas (Keri) Clay, both of Mechanicsburg. She is also survived by grandchildren, Selena (Matt) Mallios, Anthony J. (Lauren) Clay, Sheldon Rodgers, Andrew Clay, Mary Clay and Sarah Clay and 7 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday, October 21, 2024 at Trindle Springs Lutheran Church, 14 State Rd, Mechanicsburg. Burial will be private in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. The family will receive friends at a luncheon in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
