LANA  E. THUMMA

Lana E. Thumma, 75, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 17, 1942 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Ted J.Dagenhart and Anna M. Enders.

Lana retired from the Church of God Home where she was employed as a Dietary Aid and had previously been employed at Ahold, USA.

She was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church, Carlisle Springs, where she was a former member of the choir.

Lana loved humming birds, spending time at the cabin with her family and dancing with her friends.  She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles Aerie 1299 and the American Legion Post 101.

She was preceded in death by her first husband:  Donald Grimm, Sr. and a step daughter:  Sharon Thumma.

Surviving are her husband of 20 years:  Bill Thumma, whom she married November 1, 1997; a daughter:  Juanita Calaman (husband Sam) of Newville; two sons:  Donald Grimm, Jr. (wife Becky) of Dillsburg and James Grimm II (wife Debra) of Linglestown; a stepson:  Michael Thumma (wife Cindy) of Colorado Springs, CO; two step daughters: Tracy Russell (husband Warren) of Carlisle and Crystal Allen (husband Robert) of York; 20 Grandchildren: 38 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at St. Matthias Lutheran Church, 3500 Spring Rd. Carlisle on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Vicar Greg Hartman officiating.  Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.  Viewing will be at the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle on Friday from 6-8 PM and also at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ronan Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
