Michael Darwin Rudisill, age 64 formerly of both Carlisle and West Hanover Twp, and Hershey Pennsylvania was called home to his loving Lord after a long courageous fight on Friday June 17, 2016 at the Einstein Montgomery Medical Center in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
Born July 19, 1951 in Harrisburg he was the son of the late David L. and Mary E. (Ruth) Rudisill.
He graduated in 1970 from Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg.
Michael was a faithful believer who knew his Lord and Savior in Jesus Christ. He loved reading and studying the Bible, listening to pastors and Christian radio. He cherished spending time with his children and adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed being a school bus driver and was loved by his students who called him “Mr. Mike”. He loved music and playing guitar, nature, the ocean, thunderstorms; watching golf, Nascar, nature shows, PBS, History and Weather channel and a few others.
He serviced in the US Army Pennsylvania National Guard.
After his service he was a carpenter and commercial driver, finally as school bus driver until he retired for the 1 st Student Transportation, Inc. of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by a daughter Jennifer Kline and her husband John of Shippensburg, son Matthew D. Rudisill and his companion Jessica O’Keefe of Mohrsville, Pennsylvania, granddaughter Amanda Kime of Carlisle, grandson Jordon O’Keefe of Mohrsville, 5 brothers: Joseph Smith and wife Ruth, Thomas Smith and wife Carol, all of Stoney Creek, PA; Clyde Smith and wife Sara of Landisburg, PA; David Rudisill and wife Betty of Cut Bank, MT; Wesley Rudisill and wife Linda of Enola, PA; a sister; Sharon Etnoyer and husband David of Clarksburg, WV.; and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church, 777 West North Street, Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Rev. Clyde Smith and Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Interment in Waggoner’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 2 hours prior to service.
