ROY B. "Hippie" SALISBURY, JR.

Roy B. Salisbury, Jr., 62, of Carlisle, passed peacefully at home on December 9, 2022 after battling renal failure for 4 years.

Born May 22, 1960 in Washington, PA he was the son of the late Roy B. Salisbury, Sr. and Rose Marie (Aloia) Salisbury. 

He is preceded in death by his father Roy Sr., Mother Rose and Nieces Rhonda and Amanda

Roy was a self employed truck driver for 40 years most recently operating a dump truck.  He was the former owner of The Rock, a local ice cream shop in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #1299 Carlisle and a former member of the VFW and American Legion.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, vacationing in Myrtle Beach and spending time with family and friends.

He held an unwavering, deep love and compassion for his son and granddaughter. Both whom brought cheer to him, even on his gloomiest days. 

Surviving are his wife: Christine (Tina) (Paulus) Salisbury of 40 years; a son: Roy B. Salisbury III (Kristen) of Carlisle, a brother; Warren Taylor of Florida, 3 sisters: Alfreda Rivers (Curtis) of Carlisle, Rose Salisbury of Mechanicsburg and Carol Furmanek (Dennis) of Washington, PA, a granddaughter: Ryleigh E. Salisbury, 4 nieces and 3 nephews:  as well as several great and great great nieces and nephews and his beloved Jack Russell “Diesel.”

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Shrine Church, Carlisle on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM With the Rev. Javed Kashif  as celebrant.  Viewing will be at the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road, Carlisle on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 6:00 PM. to 8:00 P M  Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Carlisle.

Roy will forever be in our hearts.
