SHELVY J BOMBERGER
Shelvy Jean Bomberger, 75, of Carlisle, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at home.
Born Oct. 13, 1936 in Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Day) May and the widow of Joseph Morgan Bomberger Jr.
Mrs. Bomberger retired from Ross Distribution after 19 years of service.
She was a graduate of the former York Springs High School where she was a majorette in the band. She had previously been a member of the Oldies but Goodies Bowling League.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Stella Shellhamer and two brothers; Darby Day and Michael May.
Surviving are two sons: Joseph and Frederick Bomberger, both of Carlisle; a brother: William May of York; three sisters: Kay Wolford of Tennessee, Connie Hurley of Carlisle, Vonnie Harbold of Florida and Sandie Eversole of Gettysburg; two grandchildren: Christopher and Amanda Bomberger, both of Carlisle; very close friends: Robert Stratton and Brenda Bomberger, both of Carlisle; her best friend: Neva McKowan and her husband, Forrest, of Perry County; and very close friends: Marlin and Lois Stoner of Mt. Holly Springs, and many nieces and nephews..
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.
