VIRGINIA E. WILLHIDE
Virginia E. Willhide, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Swaim Health Center, Newville.
Born January 20, 1928 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Herman C. and Martha (Drawbaugh) Mentzer. She was the widow of Lane Z. Willhide who passed away July 23, 2002.
Mrs. Willhide retired as the Secretary to the Hospital Administrator of the former Carlisle Hospital.
Viriginia was a member of the Old Bellaire Chapter #375, Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed playing card games. She was also a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Ruth Burkholder, Mid Kelley and Helen Mohler and three brothers: John H. Menzer, George K. Mentzer and Francis P. Mentzer.
Surviving are a son: Stephen L. (wife Cindy) Willhide of Carlisle and two grand daughters: Ashley and Jessica.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 W. Louther St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Rob Moore officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 A. M. until time of service. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a Graveside Service on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 A. M. in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Highway, Carlisle.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
